A Journey of Dedication and Growth
This month marks a significant milestone for Executive Stress Office Support (eSOS) as I celebrate 25 years of providing high-quality, confidential executive PA/EA services, transcription, document production, and more. Reflecting on this journey, it’s incredible to see how far eSOS has come from humble beginnings in February 2000 working from a cupboard in my lounge room, to becoming a trusted name in virtual assistance across Australia, the UK, the USA, and Canada.
The Early Days
In the late 1990s, the concept of virtual assistance was practically unheard of. Working from home wasn’t considered a “real job,” and the technology we take for granted today was in its infancy. When I started eSOS in February 2000, there was no telecommuting, flexible working arrangements, and only dial-up internet. The majority of the apps and tech we now rely on didn’t even exist back then.
Starting this business was a way for me to remain at home with my then-baby daughter while continuing to contribute to the household income. Little did I know that this venture would blossom into a very busy virtual assistant (VA) practice serving clients not just locally, but internationally.
Growth and Evolution
Over the years, eSOS has adapted to changing technology and business needs. I expanded my services to meet the diverse requirements of my clients, offering not only traditional PA/EA support but also specialised services like transcription and document production – and now video editing, social media management, and website services.
My commitment to confidentiality and quality has remained steadfast. I’ve built a reputation for reliability, authenticity, and excellence, which has been the cornerstone of eSOS’s growth. My client base has expanded beyond Australia to include the UK, the USA, and Canada, a testament to the universal need for professional and dependable virtual assistance.
Challenges and Triumphs
Running a business for a quarter of a century hasn’t been without its challenges. The rapid pace of technological advancement required continuous learning and adaptation. From transitioning to high-speed internet to mastering new software and platforms, it’s been important to embrace change to provide the best service possible, remain current, and a valuable resource for clients.
The global expansion of our client base also presented challenges, particularly in mastering different time zones and cultural expectations. However, these experiences enriched my understanding and capability, allowing me to offer tailored services that continue to meet the unique needs of each client.
Community and Recognition
The journey wouldn’t have been possible without the support of the community. I’ve been an active member of various local chambers of commerce wherever I have lived, and professional networks, which have provided invaluable support and opportunities for collaboration.
Recently, the 4556 Chamber of Commerce extended their congratulations on eSOS’s 25th anniversary, acknowledging our active membership and contributions over the years. Such recognition reinforces the importance of community engagement and the mutual benefits it brings.

As eSOS celebrates this silver anniversary, I’m filled with gratitude for the relationships I’ve built and the successes the business has achieved together with our clients. The world of virtual assistance continues to evolve, and I’m excited to embrace new technologies and methodologies to serve my clients even better.
