About Lyn Prowse-Bishop – Australian Virtual Assistant
Lyn Prowse-Bishop—known affectionately in the virtual assistant world as LynPB—has been at the forefront of the VA industry since before it was cool. She launched her practice, Executive Stress Office Support (eSOS), back in February 2000—long before remote work was mainstream. Over the past two decades, she’s earned a reputation as one of Queensland’s most respected virtual assistants and a passionate advocate for the industry.
A true pioneer, Lyn founded the Australian Virtual Business Network in 2006, which she ran for six years, helping VAs across the country connect, collaborate and grow. She’s represented Australia on international committees working on global standards and certification for virtual assistants, and is a founding steering committee member of the Online International Virtual Assistants Convention—a key event on the global VA calendar.
In 2010, she stepped into the national spotlight, serving as both the Queensland and VA Industry Representative on the board of Independent Contractors Australia, and chaired the Australian Chapter of the Alliance for Virtual Businesses.
But it’s not all boardrooms and business groups—Lyn has always believed in giving back. Over the years, she’s donated her time and skills to support Chambers of Commerce, not-for-profits, and community groups wherever she’s lived: in Brisbane, Warwick, and the Sunshine Coast.
Lyn is also a voice for the industry—literally. In 2010, she launched Australia’s first podcast dedicated to virtual assistants, The Virtual Business Show, sharing insights, advice, and real talk about the VA world. She’s a regular speaker at the Online VA Convention and was a featured speaker at the very first Australian VA Convention in 2010.
Her thought leadership has been featured in multiple print publications, and she’s been interviewed by the likes of Pat Lynch (Women’s Radio), Simon of Virtual Business Advisor, and Ben Fordham on Radio 2GB Sydney, sharing her expertise on working with VAs and the impact of national policies on small business.
